About
Hi, I’m Rosy King
I’ve worked in finance as a bank manager and a finance manager, and spent over 30 years teaching adults complicated things in simple ways. Your Money Sorted is where those two things meet.
Why I built this course
I bought my first home at 27. These days I’m able to live on my investments. But I worked money out the slow, expensive way, by making the mistakes first and understanding them later, and I’d rather you didn’t have to do the same.
Nobody sat me down at 22 and explained how super works, or how to read a payslip properly, or why the order you pay things in matters more than the size of the amount. I picked it up in pieces over a lot of years, and some of those pieces cost me money.
So this is the course I wish someone had handed me back then. Everything I know about money and building a secure life, taught live, in plain English, with no jargon and no judgement.
What I do, and what I don’t
Let me be upfront about this, because it matters more than anything else on this page.
I teach financial education. That means the frameworks, the systems and the habits that put you back in control of your own money.
I’m not a licensed financial adviser and I don’t hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). So I won’t tell you which super fund to switch to, which shares to buy, or what to do with your particular circumstances. That’s advice, and advice needs a licence. If that’s what you need, a licensed financial adviser is the right next step, and I’ll tell you so rather than take your money.
What I will do is teach you how the whole thing works, so you can make those decisions with a clear head instead of a knot in your stomach.
Where this comes from
I’ve worked in finance, as a bank manager and as a finance manager. So I’ve spent a good part of my career on the other side of the desk, watching how the system actually treats people, which is not always the way the brochures describe it.
The rest of my working life has been spent teaching. Over 30 years of standing in front of rooms full of adults, taking complicated things apart and putting them back together in a way you can actually use on Monday morning.
And I’ve built wealth, lost a fair chunk of it, and built it back again. That last part probably matters more than the first two. It means I’m not teaching you from theory. I know what it feels like when the plan comes apart, and I know what it takes to start over.
So why teach it, rather than just tell you?
What I learned across all of that is that information was never the problem. You can find any money fact you like in about four seconds. The problem is that information on its own doesn’t change what you actually do on a Tuesday.
What changes behaviour is a system you’ve built yourself, a habit small enough that you’ll keep it, and someone who’ll ask you how it’s going. That’s what the five weeks are built around, and it’s why the sessions are live rather than a video library you’d never finish.
Who I’m doing this for
Young Australians, roughly in their twenties, who are earning reasonable money and can’t quite work out where it goes.
You’re not bad with money. You just never got taught the system. Almost nobody was.
The honest bit
I’m not going to promise you’ll get rich, and I’m not going to tell you there’s a trick the banks don’t want you to know about. There isn’t one.
What I can tell you, after watching this for a long time, is that the people who end up comfortable are usually not the ones who earned the most. They’re the ones who set up something sensible early and then left it running. That’s learnable, and it’s most of what I teach.
Want to know where you actually stand?
The Money Health Check is ten questions about how your money works right now. It takes about three minutes, it’s free, and at the end you’ll get a score out of 100 plus the one thing worth doing first. If it turns out you’re already sorted, I’ll tell you that.

Your Money Sorted is an Australian financial education business. Everything in it is built for how money actually works here, with our super, our tax and our HECS, rather than borrowed from the American content that fills most feeds.
The course runs live online over five weeks, one hour a week, in small groups so there’s room to ask questions.
